Then & Screen is a Gen X pop-culture and nostalgia site: the shows, toys, music, malls, and moments that shaped the generation that grew up with a house key on a shoelace and MTV playing actual music videos.
We cover five beats: Then & Now (people and places, revisited), Latchkey & MTV Days, Saturday Morning Rewind, Whatever Happened To…, and Totally 80s/90s Rewind. Every piece is written by one of our contributors, each focused on their own corner of the era.
We fact-check what we publish and correct what we get wrong. If you were there for any of this too, and want to tell us we missed something (or got it exactly right), we would love to hear it.
